If you don't want to trek down 72 steps and back up, the view from the top is pretty good too.

Hiking on the north face of the mountains really gives a great experience of the differences with the south faces. North faces in the Southern Hemisphere get more sun - more rugged, craggy landscape.
Grand Canyon and Pinnacle trails start from here. If you fancy a longer walk, take the Pinnacle. Follow the yellow triangle markers to find your way through the mountain.
There are two platforms, head to the one on the right for a better view of everything. On a clear day, spot the wind farm in the distance!
No cable TV, pricey movies but decent rooms with kitchenette and laundry facilities ensuite. Take a short walk to southern cross station for woolies and coles for groceries. Tram stop just outside.
This place was packed on a weekday morning! Really liked the cold brew - acidic and very citrusy flavour. Fruity aftertaste. Fantastic. Will come back again just for this.

Pretty decent porchetta pizza baked in wood-fired stone oven; perfect with an ice-cold apple cider or lager!
The beetroot hummus on the antipasto platter was really yummy! Can't stop eating it with the fresh bread!
Remember to look out for the Oompa Loompas when driving in.
Sauvignon Blanc not too dry - worth buying if you're looking for something light.
The apple & pear cider is getting popular - not too sweet, fresh and crisp. Take home at $15 for 4 bottles!
Chicken & Mushroom Risotto - slightly bland, but otherwise not too cloying as with other risottos. Good button mushrooms and chunky chicken breast. Great flat white to finish off!
All the exhibits are really great here! It's free for everyone too - just leave a donation or buy something. Great for spending a day learning about tassie culture, Antarctica and art.
The Full Larder - really nice eggs Benedict, spicy beans, good bacon and sausage, fresh grilled mushrooms and tomato, really crispy hashbrown. Perfect all day breakfast looking out on to the harbour.
There's 888 on the company logo and they have two cars with the 888 licence number! Good fortune and prosperity indeed.
Look out at the awesome view here while you have a taste of their hand made cheeses and chocolate. Large variety of crops on this farm and organically grown.
Modern new pier; love the common waiting area where you can wait comfortably instead of regular piers where you wait in the cold wind. MONA ferry leaves from here.
