Egg coffee sounds strange but it is definitely not raw egg + coffee (most people’s first impression). Creamy, smooth, tastes nothing like eggs, perfect pairing with the dark strong viet coffee.
Maddest traffic here in the whole world. Don’t assume you have right of way with the green man, and watch both sides of the road for scooters even if it is a one-way street. Cross surely and slowly.
Came here on a recommendation from a Vietnamese friend. Cheaper beans than in the old quarter and better. Have a smell of the beans before you buy.
Starbucks is always quiet in places with an established home coffee culture. Pricey - yes if compared to Vietnamese coffee shops, but no if compared to Starbucks in other countries. Nice place.
Only 6 things on the menu and they all revolve around fish. Grilled fish and fish guts fried with fresh herbs at your table. Eat it with the noodles, peanuts and sauce! Tasted delicious!
Can’t go wrong with fried chicken wings and the huge rotisserie roasted chicken legs. Grab a bag and take what you want, self-service. No orderly queue here though.
Pizza is standard 12-inches. Original cheese pizza comes with honey to make the taste less heavy on your stomach. Fantastic pizzas well-worth the price. Reservations recommended.
Hoi An quang noodle in the heart of Hanoi. Fresh noodles, good sauce, fragrant sesame seed rice crackers. Would come back again!
Might be a bit of a wait for the bun cha, but it’s tasty. Great smoky flavour from the chargrilled pork. Obama’s table is on the 2nd staircase landing on the right side if you want a photo.
Real feel of Hanoi. Shoes and clothes on first floor and all textile on second floor. Get lost in the labyrinth.
All patties are done medium. Soft and juicy, well marinated. Craft beer was good too. Lemongrass and ginger cider from Hanoi Cider for a refreshing and slightly spicy finish!
Really good bun cha and very friendly staff who show you how to eat it! Love the slightly sweet and sour soup with full umami flavour. Super.
The lake is awesome. Lots of activities around and many joggers. True oasis in the middle of Old Quarter.
Decently comfortable hotel but if you get a room facing the road it can be a bit noisy from traffic.
Dim sum is really good here. Try the signature chicken as well. Chrysanthemum jelly was refreshing to cap off the meal!
Shopping options are pretty decent here, but don’t get too carried away cos you still need the time to queue at passport control for international flights.
Order at the counter and wait for them to cook the food in front of you. The order is recorded in a card and you bring it to the cashier for payment after. Can get slow when there’s a crowd.
Get ticket from the ripley’s box office. If it’s not too crowded you can spend all the time here reading the fairy tales.
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure to explore from the top of the cannon tower for great views and to the bottom in the casements. Turn on your phone flashlight!
Exit the station, cross the road and take a short scenic walk along the waterfront to Kronborg Castle.
Nice sandwiches here, steady stream of people popping in for food and they’ve got a toilet in the back.
The collection that showcases 700 years of Danish history is well-curated. Marvellous to look at and the castle is a feast for the eyes.
Free one-time entry with Copenhagen Card. Rides and lots of game stalls and nice food. Atmosphere at night was wonderful! Check the opening seasons online.
The pork was good, flavours on the plate went well with each other. Nice crust. Service a bit slow though.
Royal Reception Rooms are free entry with Copenhagen Card. Worth a visit, interesting descriptions to read on each room and painting.
