Airtrain it back to Manhattan if you're travelling solo. It takes an hour and it's only $7 compared to a $50 cab where you can get stuck in traffic. Just follow the signs.
Pre screen isn't applicable, be prepared to take out your laptop and off your shoes. The people running the pre screen line just sat around and talked while no one was allowed to use that lane.
Remember two years ago, I wrote a tip about the pricing? Just get a smartphone, go tether, call your carrier and stop the data plan while you're away. Problem solved, saved $10/mo., get more use.

For International flights be sure to definitely arrive prior to 2 hOUrs as required. I witnessed some passengers being denied for being 15 minutes late at 5am! Plus the security line may take 45+min
