Why is this place never busy? The food is great, drinks are great, and service was friendly. Come for the pierogies & stay for...everything else.

Pierogi happy hour is so great! 50-cent pierogies (although you do have to order all at once, no subsequent orders).

Ze Mean Bean is the definition of small and cozy, but small dining room has a large fireplace, and live music on the weekends.

All desserts (chocolate babka, cinnamon babka, apple pie, chocolate caramel mousse pie, dutch apple cake) made by the owner's mother. Really!

BisonGrass vodka is really good - try a tetanka. Also don't miss the Becherovka, a traditional eastern european liquor.
