Great chicken and pork satay. Egg custards. And also the popiah + fried popiah. Don't forget to order their ice coffee. Will always come back for the food again. Great cheap food!
Be prepared to wait for approximately one hour, but you will be rewarded with the best original Ipoh Kuey Teow, smooth poached Chicken and crunchy Taugeh. Try the Caramel Custard and Pork Satay too.
Get in line, and be ready to dig into a good collection of Ipoh culinary faves. The hor fun is al dente, the stock is rich in chicken and shrimp flavor, bean sprouts is plump and fresh; recommended.
I love the choice of drinks at Ipoh (& Penang) kopitiams (cafes). Besides kopi & teh, u hv barley, chinchow, soya milk, lime juice, & ambra/ampulla (ambarella juice). Most come with iced option
Among the pioneer Kai Si Hor Fun (Shredded Chicken Ipoh Kuey Teow) not too sweet soup, easy to chew chicken. RM6.50 s/bowl. Awesome satay!! Juicy marinations and quite tender texture.
I love the signature baked eggdessert and must try the kueh tiawsoup with chicken slices.. The soup really awesome.. I must go back again when i dropby ipoh..
My favorite coffee shop. Chee Cheong Fun is so smooth slurrrrrrp, Pork Satay, Creme Caramel, Popiah, Rojak & Ipoh Hor Fun ofcos but be prepared to wait. Closed on Thurdays.
Finally got a chance to try the kai si hor fan...The taste is very good ,definitely a must try in Ipoh!!!😄👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 RM6 per bowl is a little but pricy compared to other food in Ipoh...
The custard pudding was really good. Didnt expect a local coffee shop to have a dessert like this..satay and hor funnoodle is good as well and not forgetting the poh piah:)
A very touristycoffee shop since its location is just opposite concubine lane. Effort required to get a table. White Coffee is bad here. Kai si hor fun highly recommended.
Every time balik kampung must b go here. Caramelegg custard taste is awesome I try at Ipoh town so far! Pork satay is delicious! My mom said is made by their own.
Dan cha, one of the least people order dish but in fact it actually taste pretty good. Served in a piping hot bowl of tea. Expect to wait long queue for table and chickenkoay teow soup
Tried the chicken hor fun which is just expected with Ipoh quality. Crunchy bean sprouts, simple but tantalizing dishes of curry Mee and of course custardcaramel. Delicious.
Frankly I think only the hor fun is excellent. The custard could have more egg content and the satay sauce can have more flavor, although both great too.
Nice old school Cofee Shop, Bzy mostly, food will take some time due to crowd, worst on weekends, ipoh beansprout chicken noodle, cream caramel, pork satay & white coffee my most cherished dishes here
The pork satay is good, different from i taste before, pork intestine is good too. The custard is sooo sweet. Other food (noodle and koey teow open 9.30)
Their sliced chicken Ipoh Fun is made from soup of chicken and prawns. They extract the oil from the head and skin of the prawns and the oil goes into the soup. Not for those who don't take prawns!
The egg custard is good, you need to go to the back to order it or from the drinks lady. the tricycle stall has good hor fun bc of its broth. Satay is good. people here are rude cept for drinks lady.
Go on and order everything. You can order food from next door and eat it in Thean Chun. Beware of the notorious long wait for hor fun if you pop in at the wrong time.
Do try out the Egg Custard! Completely different from what we always find in Kuala Lumpur. Supposed to be my dessert, but became my starter instead while waiting for my Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun!
As rude as they may appear, those people from the Ipoh Chicken Hor Fun stall are actually very nice people. Speak politely and ask how long would the wait be, as it might take AT LEAST 30-45 minutes!
Satay is served rather differently than the usual, where you order what you want. Most of the time, the owner would distribute an array of Satays to the table, and you shall pay only for what you eat!
