This bar rocks! Extensive draft and bottle list. Bar specialized in european beers. Very few places match this caliber of beer bar and the selection is da bomb!
Perhaps the best beer bar in Maine (which says a lot!). Tap-list is unreal - so well balanced between quality locals and obscure, though well curated, imports.
Simply the best beer bar in the state of Maine. No kitchen, so eat a solid meal before you go, and maybe arrange to walk or get a sober driver as the incomparable beer list has many high octanes
This is one of the few bars in Portland where I recommend NOT trying a local beer but instead learning about some of the amazing ones they have from around the world.
We came hungry which was a mistake, this joint is definitely beer-centric with some grub thrown in. That said, great vibes, friendlybarstaff and more beer options than you can handle.
A recommendation from a beer lover friend. Not too hard to find but had an underground feel. Great outdoor space & beer list w/ Belgians. Not my fave since I’m a cocktail gal & they have none. :(
Cool, Belgian-inspired international beer bar. Did I get that right? Great place to sample some amazing beer and nerd out with the bartender about great beer.
Interesting crowd and knowledgable bartenders. Cellar like inside but large space. Impressive Belgian Beer/Local selection with appropriate glassware. Bites- cheeses, wild boarsalami, lobster roll
Directions to Novare: Fly to the Portland (PWM). Get a taxi. Enjoy a big beer or two. Big = 22 oz+, 9%+. Best in Portland, 2nd best in Maine. Best is Ebenezer's Pub Lovell, Maine.
Tucked into the basement level of a back alley, this place feels like the best kind of secret. Order something local at the bar, then head to the back room (yep, there's a back room).
The quintessential beer bar in downtown Portland. Bottle list is off the hook, but check out the taps first. Outdoor deck during the summer is where to be!
A beer lovers must-do in a city for beer lovers. Open the menu, point to something new and enjoy. Share with your trust network here: http://bit.ly/19XsRgw
Awesome low keybar with great beer selections both foreign and domestic. If you love beer and are in Portland, definitely think you need to check this place out
Super hipster. If you don’t have a sleeve or a beard your not welcome. Slow service m. They have a dungeon style bar room or a shaded patio. The selection is saison to citrus to sour.
To the individual (self proclaimed dick) there are non alcoholic options. I suggest some of the delicious sodas. When in doubt you could sways read the menu before ordering. Just saying...
This place isn't messing around. Get a beer. Sit at a garten style table. Read the menu. It's funny. And it's even funnier after your second biere. Prost.
Recommended by local chef Erik Desjarlais: "They have Maine beers, but consider the world local. Their keg system is more complex than most computer hard drives."
