Good place for Ivorian dishes. Fish or chicken accompanied with casava couscous or plantain. Don't know the local names but taste different to Ghanaian meals.
Sometimes you can get a local Halumni cheese, different to the one you may know, but worth trying. Or get it at MaxMart.

Arrived at the turtle season, slept there 2 nights, but haven't seen any of them. The weather in November was cold, rainy and windy, totally against my expectations for a relaxing on the beach.
Good grilled Tilapia (10, 12, 15 cedis) and banku. Looks clean, fast service, some outdoor sitting, but many customers take it away.
Extremely fast service for a lunch. Mutton charminar was very good, naan as well. Mango laasi was disastrous, probably instant. Very expensive.
Water is beautifully blue, calm sea for swimming. Downside is litter around the trash.
Magic place hidden at the end of a long road. It has incredible atmosphere, much different than other roças which are close to civilization. Rooms are €30 or €40 including breakfast, dinner is 15.
The most luxurious place I've been to on São Tomé. Reserve whole day to rest under the Mucumbli tree and try their meals.
It works as an restaurant, but you have to order in advance. Meals are expensive, 10 EUR, Roça São João has much better value.
Wonderful small plantation offers nice old school rooms, bucket shower and no electricity for $25. Good starting point for 6-7 hours long trek to Cascata Angolar falls with 6 tunnels. Portuguese only.
Very good value for money, room with double bed is for €30. Hot water, by far the cleanest bed sheets I ever had in Africa. Kitchen with washing machine and large living room for all guests.
If you want to save, wait for a yellow van, it's 20k dobras to the city centre, where you can easily exchange money.
This is by far the best bar in Africa I've been to. Very stylish, in a beautiful colonial building, very europeisch. Prices are slightly higher, but it's worth a visit nevertheless.
Slightly more expensive place but not upmarket. I arrived for a quick meal after main hours, got simple but tasty gallician octopus with potatoes.
Their wafles are fantastic! Never ate anything similar. Hope I'll get there soon.
