Places visited by James VI of Scotland (later James I of England). Mary Queen of Scots' son James (1566-1625) managed to garner sufficient respect to inherit the English throne from Elizabeth I.
"Francis Knollys was Mary Queen of Scots reluctant custodian. He came to like and respect his prisoner, who lacking the comforts she was accustomed too, continued to plead to Elizabeth I for help."
