Ting: Freshly made pandan flavor putu mayong is worth a try. Not a big fan of the putu piring though. Uncle Joe's food van is at the corner of Jalan Pasar and Salak Moulmein.
Nicky Haznick: ..there's a good food joint insde here for u guys to hve lunch since they're open durin' day time..can't remember the name and plus in front of chow rasta..there's a cendol stall that truly awesome!..

Linda Wong: Small little canteen style set up, famous for its traditional nyonya kuehs. Nasi ulam and rempah udang kueh were really good. The pandan honey drink was refreshing too. A little pricey though.
Kim Fooi Choo: One of the locals' favorite hang-up spot for groceries (afternoon), and foods (lunch). Parking can be challenging at times during peak hrs (afternoon). Price is slightly abv avg mkt. px.

Richard Foo: Tuck into possibly the best Popiah in Penang. Order the ones with added crab meat. The stock served with the Popiah is just heavenly. Wash all down with coconut water or ambra juice!

Rebecca Lee: This brand is loved by the local of Penang. Too many tourists don't know this brand unless they received it from the local. There is a taugay stall sell it in Anson Road Market but not in gift boxes.

Diana R.: Superb food! Fantabulous sambal belacan! 5 stars Malay kampung dishes. Been eating here since mid 90s before Lidiana moved to the current spot. Totally recommended. Always crowded! Starts arnd 11 am.
Juston Payne: Okay, traveler, this is why you're traveling. Grab a seat with the locals, order roti canai and masala chai, and bask in flavors your can't get at home. There's no sign or menu. Just sidewalk benches.

Daniel Kee: Hawker cuisine's last great secret. For years it's been an unidentified stall parked under someone's zinc porch. Add pork ribs, lor & garlic paste for the ultimate expression of Penang Hokkien Mee.

Stewart Tan: One of the best Asam Laksa you'll taste in Penang. Authentic and flavorful, RM5 for one bowl. Standards have dropped a bit but still worth a try!

Su-ianne: I'm a very picky laksa person. But.. The laksa here and the one opposite(哑巴bisu) is seriously the best of the best! Both taste great. Do give both a try instead of just one. #TwoIsBetterThanOne
Mango Fong: Best chee cheong fan in Penang hut super long queue. The char koay teow looks pale in colour but suprisingly it is still full of flavour and the "wok hei" is there! Pork knuckle rice is great as well.
Philip Lee: Best ccf I've ever had. TBH, the kopitiam behind it taste equally good and I personally prefer the kopitiam behind it because it has more food selection. Eg: the siuyuk rice w braised sauce is good!
Jo L: True to the recommendations here, try the chee cheung fun with prawn paste and chili (freshly made daily), char kuey kak and the sandwich from the western store. Try the kopi and toast bread too!
R G: Don't miss this place when visiting Penang. The best local food you can try at an affordable price. So many options it's hard to choose. Tasty rendang.

John Webb: Now called CF Night Market, open well past 9, 12 I think. It a well organised covered market with food and drink stalls at the edge a section of Thai, Malay, and Japanese at good prices. Live music
Penny Qi: Has awesome authentic hokkien fried prawn pancakes (he ji), black angku with mouth watering fillings etc. It's homemade, make a right turn right after the mural by Ernest, it's the second last house~
Zsóka: Visit this place after the 9pm closing time, the shops all become homes for the sellers and walking along the Jetty one can look into these people non-commercial life. Intimate athmosphere, nice lights

Nishie Loo: One of the hidden gem in Penang. The stuff here are quite pricey because of its authentically penang nyonya food.. Should try their nyonya koay, nasi lemak & nasi ulam!
Kylie Chong: Kangkung Belacan is a MUST-EAT here. Have it alongside with their soup, Curry Fish Fillet, Sweet and Sour Pork and Omelette. You have a dinner FOR TWO. Yes, for two BECAZ ITZ SO TASTY!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱
R G: Great place to hang out. It's got an artsy and vintage vibe. Coffee and desserts are good. Coolest coffee shop in Penang, in my opinion. Owner is very friendly.
Serene Martin: Go around 9am where the market is buzzing. Try the curry mee at the end of the st. Sooo good. Assam laksa next to famed chendol is only okay. Some souveniers and clothes shops arnd area for cheap.
Casi Gerber: Lean Joo Sean sets up outside to make Char koay teow (stir-fried rice noodles). A plate costs 3.40. The fried noodles are prepared w/ a secret recipe that includes fresh mantis prawns -trvlchnl
Ian Wei Hean Choong: The fried oyster is worth try; both wantan mee is below average; the char keoy teow that is with the most smoke is not tasty; the chee cheong fun is very nice.

Jun Heng: The Loh Bak is the best in Penang. Like seriously a must have! The uncle is also very friendly and the service is good. The beansprout chicken rice is also very good!
Joachim Ooi: Comparing with Lrg Selamat CKT, this is more oily, more spicy, cheaper, and lacking of a special aroma taste. Number 2 CKT in Penang for me. -Penang Kia Food Critique-
Jia Liang Ooi: A local's breakfast spot. Their Coffee, Toasted Bread with Butter & Kaya and Half Boiled Egg is very good. Service is bad and parking might be a problem here. The waiting time is quite long as well.
Sharix Ng: Homemade and special made cocktails, might a little pricy for one glass but taste good to have a try. Just a corner in The Saw Emporium, best cocktails rated 🍸
Linda Wong: Super friendly service, nice ambience and great variety of cocktails. I like their house speciality 'georgetown transit' (a mix of rum, espresso and coconut) plus their nachos.
Paul Song Por Wen: A great place where you can choose from an array of alcohol drinks, along with live band. Great ambience, great service and definitely a great place to have fun with friends!
