Sign up for a free tour online. They can only accommodate a certain amount of people at a time, so signing up is critical. Do not expect to walk in and be able to join a tour. Tours fill up fast.
This Long Island brewery, open since 1998, serves free samples in their tasting room and holds great annual events, like a cask festival every April and an anniversary concert each August.
Get here early for tasting and tour tickets, then eat at the cafe. Food better than the beer (try some of their partner beers), tour is quick and not that insightful.
Great place to go on a lazy afternoon for some unlimited tastings. If you start to get hungry, stop by their new Taproom, which serves up pizzas, sandwiches, soups, snacks, and of course, beer!
The tour at Flying Dog is one of a kind. They take pride in letting you taste each step in the brewing process. The beer is unique, bold and outstanding. They have beer you can only drink there.
The bulk of the tour is just a video about the beer-making process, not much of the actual facilities, but it's free! You also get four free beer samples at the bar.
