The next time you fancy a drink, why not make sure you go to one of the most historic watering holes in all of Denver.
1. My Brother's Bar
Drew Frey: Opened in 1873 this is Denver's oldest bar. Oh yeah, and Kerouac drank here too.
2. The Buckhorn Exchange
Drew Frey: The original white oak bar and backbar are upstairs in the Victorian lounge. Check it out and order a Buffalo Bill Cocktail while you're at it.
3. Cruise Room
Drew Frey: This place opened the day after Prohibition was repealed in 1933. Like the Art Deco? Me too. Everything is original.
4. Buffalo Rose Saloon
Drew Frey: This building was a paper mil and rec center back in the day, which is why there's an Olympic-size swimming pool under the floor boards.
5. Ship Tavern
Drew Frey: The Duke himself drank here. Order a Colorado Sidecar in his honor.
