The best time to go is really early in the morning so there are not a lot of people. Its best to go to the museum first and the Basilica after. Museum is free on sundays!

Unlike everybody says, the best time to arrive is at 12ish. The queue is significantly smaller and there are less annoying hawkers on the streets.

If you are afraid of spontaneously combusting upon entering, don't worry! There are big basins of water conveniently by the door!

Pay the extra money for a tour to cut the lines into the museum and the Sistine Chapel!

Make sure you are not wearing anything above the knees and to have your shoulders covered - the churches are very strict with this policy.

Visit at night. We were there at 10pm. Plenty of people around taking photos, chilling around the fountain. Great shots, safe place.

A escadaria é estreita e na diagonal...não indico para idosos e quem tem fobia de lugares apertados... após o elevador ainda tem muitos degraus....a vista é belíssima não sei se vale o sacrifício!

The queue to St. Peter's basilica isnt that bad. Make sure to wear proper clothing as the security is very strict about it. Ciao!
