The service in airport shops at BHM is -awful-. The shop staff act like you are majorly inconveniencing them if you want to buy a bottle of water. They need an attitude overhaul!!
New Samuel Adams pub is nice. Best food in the airport.
Don't listen to the others, there is indeed food past security.
Magic City Connection in terminal C has a pretty good Chicken Parmesan Panini.
For those seeking a shoe shine, the shine here is merely okay. No shine available if in Terminal B (US Airways, United, Continental).

The only bad thing about this airport is no express lane for a-list....other than that its not bad.
Warning. You still need a paper ticket. It's like 1998 here.- The free wifi doesnt reach into concourse B (american, us air, continental)
A relatively small airport... Eat before you go through security. Not much offered inside
Birmingham takes security super serious... Prepare for delays and to roll your eyes on occasion....

security lines for concourse c have changed allow an extra 30 minutes to get through.
One of the county's smallest airports and it has the SLOWEST baggage claim service. It is ridiculously slow.
Saturday, March 8th the precheck line is closed, bummer.
