Hakata Tonkatsu! Broth is made from hours of stewingpork bones and gives the soup a creamy, tasty consistency. Pork belly slices just melt in your mouth. There's always a wait but it's well worth it!
Really good ramen and their rice bowls are worth going back for. I wasnt that impressed with pork buns but their bonelessfried chicken is delicious. Plus: good service and not a big ass line to go in
Best ramen in the area & best value in the city. The restaurant is small, but the wait goes quickly. No 2 hour+ waits like some of the city's more popular spots. I like the Tonkatsu, but it's all good
Michelin recommended ramen magic! Its a never ending battle for me between the spicytonkotsu and miso ramens. Try the pork buns, and cha-shu fried rice. Rice bowls are also killer. Its all legit!
Fantastic broth, excellent noodles, friendly service, and prices about 1/3 lower than any of its closest competitors, not to mention the lack of an hour-long wait to get in (for now)?
The spicy ramen& the pork buns are delicious. This is my go to ramen spot in the area. I like the taste of Totto Ramen in hells kitchen is better, but there is no wait at Jin Ramen& it's still tasty
Easily the best spot for specialty ramen. The kimchiramen is spicy yet perfectly balanced as far as taste. The chashufried rice is perfect to split, or just a cheap and light meal by yourself.
Awesome friendly staff. The pork buns are the best I've EVER had. Green beans are light and refreshing. Great change of pace from soy beans. And the ramen... A+ (obviously I couldn't eat it all)
My husband spent 6 yrs in Japan and if this place gets his thumbs up, it means a lot. Kara-ge, pork buns, gyu-don, & spicy tonkotsu ramen-- all excellent. We will be back to try the rest of the menu.
This little hidden gem is phenomenal. Delicious ramen by Columbia for the students. It's no Totto ramen, but it's good for the price, location to CU, short wait times, and great service.
Columbia University-adjacent ramen-ya specializes in creamy, Hakata-style pork bone broth. Best showcased in the tonkotsu ramen, with a house-made roasted garlic paste and tender braised pork slices.
Their Ramen is delicious, but their rice bowls are my favorite. Got the fresh salmon one and it was down right amazing, hooked me right away! I am now a loyal Jin customer!
Start off with pork buns. Chef recommends adding the cole slaw inside the bun. Try the spicy tonkatsu ramen. Fantastic for a cold December day. Add some sweet corn for nice texture.
My second favorite ramen in the city - Totto is #1. I get the spicytonkotsu with corn, enoki mushrooms, and extra pork. They make their own noodles. Legit.
Jin Ramen has been one of the most popular restaurants in the area since it's opened. Reason being the ramen is delicious, the service is efficient & the price is right!
On weekends, the wait can be pretty long, especially when the Columbia students come down the hill for the tasty and inexpensiveramen. They need to work on the sake available.
Chef Mark works hard to make delicious food. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the broth is just right. The kani salad and kara-age are awesome starters. Get the vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Haunted by their spicy tonkatsu ramen, I'm no longer dissuaded by the Papyrus-set menu. Dine with a partner, split this and hiyashi chuka. Kara-age is perfect with some lemon and togarashi.
The Hakata Tonkotsu is cooked with pork bones in the broth 'til they release their marrow, giving it a "creamy consistency that rivals milk, melted butter, or gravy." In other words: It's delicious. Daha fazlasını oku
Decent cheapramen with super friendly service! Insider's tip: if it's packed (often is), just pop next door to Kissaten their sister restaurant for some soba noodles or a rice bowl.
Yes, the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen is redonk. But, Jin has the BEST drink special in Morningside. A pitcher of delicious sojusangria for $24? That's about $3 each for 7-8 refreshing cocktails.
Spicy Tonkatsu: I didn't love it at first, but it grew on me. Great, but not as good as Ipuddo. Had the Shio and Shoyu. They're nowhere near as good. The Kano Salad is tasty, but perhaps overhyped.
Food is great, stafffriendly, ambience nice. No line if you come before 6 pm. What's weird is that a bowl of tonkotsu ramen and a glass of beer literally made me high. Do they use meth for seasoning?
In accordance with the restaurant’s name—jin is the kanji character for benevolence—owners Isan Chang and Jenny Ko contribute to charities supporting community-revitalization projects. Daha fazlasını oku
