Do not tell anyone about this place -- its obscurity is integral to its charm, along with the phenomenal pizza (the small is more than enough for 2 to share). Lovely staff, too.
The Margherita Pizza (sauce with fresh mozzarella and basil) & Veal Sorrentino are my favorite two dishes here. I order from hear at least 3 times a week. That's how much I love it.
If you want a proper tall Italian pizza order a slice of the Sicilian. Very good and the family that owns the business is very friendly. Vincenzo makes a proper espresso too.
This place is ok, I expected much better brick oven pizza from there artistic food designs , not as tasty as I thought it was going to be. I was a little disappointed !!
It's OK that you've never heard of Il Porto, because it hasn't been around forever. But if you want some of the best pizza NYC has to offer be sure to stop here -- it's cheap.
