Their food is great! The mac and cheese is to die for. Also go for some of their meet, they are not on the cheap side but they are very well made and worth the try. Don't forget the corn bread.

Brisket, pastrami, buffalo wings, ribs, and more: I've had almost everything on their dinner menu and loved it all. Need to come back for brunch.

- Sadly the Mac and cheese is not the same as once was. The thick cut bacon is also low on my charts of quality. I love the exotic ginger drink that one makes my day every time.
Seriously one of my favorite places in New York. Everything is incredible, you really can't go wrong. Love the moonshine cocktails too!

Biscuits and gravy for brunch are a good deal. The smoked chicken melts off the bone and is one of the best things ever. They do a nice job with the duck breast too.

Good place for big groups- Be prepared to spend at least $20 here on meat alone; ribs, brisket, sirloin all amazing. The sides are great and seasonal and the cornbread serving size is huge
The pulled lamb was awesome. Growlers can be tedious to pour. Get rid of the mirrors. Beer in mason jars? This place CAN be great but at the moment are trying way too hard to be liked. Ease up guys...
Tips for the Strand: 1. Get a happy hour. 2. Get rid of the 8oz. beer solution. 3. Solve the cold food problem. Things the Strand gets right: 1. Awesome atmosphere! 2. Great music!
Astoria's best Q. Make sure to grab some ribs, some pulled pork, and the cornbread. Have a pint or one of their cocktails while you are at it.

Great spot. It's basically a Texas style beer hall with mediocre ribs. Awesome beer and liquor selection though!

After a delicious brunch (big guy), I left the Battlefield Earth VHS in the bathroom. ;)- New York Magazine Cheap Eats issue recommends the lamb leg ($9 for a half-pound) seasoned with a simple salt, pepper, and rosemary rub.
The smell alone is worth the trip, but add in a great selection of beers, especially local, and cool vibe, and this is a destination.

The coleslaw is my favorite kind! Sweet, not spicy, wet, not too raw, and goes great with. Rye whiskey! Just like Dan used to make.- The exotic ginger is great and for food the mac and cheese is a must with your BBQ!
