The elevators move at a snail's pace. Since you are using FourSquare, you are likely young enough to just take the stairs and save time.
Rooms are clean/new and staff is friendly but wifi in rooms comes with a fee ($14). No fridge and bathroom amenities are ridiculous. Don't bother staying uptown unless you have an unbeatable rate.
Love this place! Been here three times now! Great value per night in January!!!

PelleMart 26, 2011If you're to the US for only a few days, don't bother with the 12 USD per day wifi. Go to T-Mobile across the street (open 10am until 8pm) and get a SIM card for your Mifi or laptop: Pay as Go + Day W

My favorite hotel in NY. Between the Riverside Park and the Central Park. Amazing neighbourhood.
DO NOT do breakfast at Serefina next door. Service is slow, food is cold. Mgmt just stands around and watches the staff struggle to keep up. Better places up on Amsterdam with better food for same $.
