One of the best experiences you can have on Sanibel. Very inexpensive, great staff and the campground caters to all ages kids to seniors. The bird aviary is a must see, even if you're just visiting.
The curators of this museum and village have done a wonderful job recreating what Sanibel was like in the past. With a very "hands on" tour you feel like you can better understand early settlers.

This Dairy Queen has been an important stop for tourists for over 40 years. One of the only "chain" restaurants on the island they offer delicious ice-cream fare, crucial for the hot Florida weather.
Low tide = lots of birds. And be sure to slow down and scan the trees and the water. Mangroves and mangrove crabs are a can't-miss.
