The tasting menu is well worth it and an amazing experience. The food is both beautifully presented and tastes amazing. A take-home menu of the night's offerings is given afterwards as a memento.

I'm sure the kaiseki is as good as everyone says but the à la carte menu was amazing and reasonably priced. Definitely definitely get the seafood poached egg situation.

A true hidden East Village sushi gem. The Kaiseki dinner is the way to go here, but you can order many of the dishes on their a la carte for a fraction of the price.

Traditional Japanese food at its best. Even something as simple as a salad (pictured) was amazing but my favorite was the pork belly app. The sashimi was ridiculously fresh and plating was incredible

Immaculate food quality, presentation, service and ambience. Sashimi was beyond fresh, pressed sushi was pre-seasoned and the sake list extensive.

Food and service - equally delightful! Ask your server to recommend some saki and then be prepared to share with your dining partner as you explore this unique menu. My picks: salmon sushi, Maki beef

Try to grab a seat at the chef counter in the back or at the bar counter for a more, intimate yet relaxing feel. Omakase course is always delicious. Awesome pressed sushi - reserve it ahead of time.

Totally authentic Japanese - which we all know can actually be kinda trick to find! You know it's good when the menu is in Japanese and English. Order anything with Tuna and you won't regret it!

Very authentic home cooked kind of Japanese food. Sushi is excellent but try everything else. Dashimaki tamago, sweet potato tempura, crab takikomi rice, kakuni (pork belly), namban zuke smelt.

The food, presented on beautiful handmade plates, is gorgeous and savory. The few desserts—including an extra silky crème caramel—are just as ethereal as the savory food. Daha fazlasını oku

really authentic Japanese cuisine that reminded me of Tokyo. pricey, but the pressed sushi selections, the cod, and the tempura platter were worth the sticker shock. also, the bathroom is sublime.

Reserve Kaiseki course 2 days in advance. For me it's a special occasion price range but it's worth it to have this quality outside of Japan. Michelin Star *

Sushi is excellent, but kaiseki is best. Try tempura-fried lotus root, dashi w/ mini bok choy, & strawberries w/ whelk. – Green Guide Editor

I just love this place. Still my favorite chawanmushi in the city, and the botan shrimp/uni dish is so bright and all the components work so well together.

They don’t serve traditional nigiri only sashimi and pressed sushi. High quality food good service. Excellent and moderately priced sake list.

$$$$. Down a flight of stairs. Kaiseki style. Reserve your table at least 24 hours in advance for pre fix. Drop-ins are welcome for ordering a la carte

Quite authentic, but I would say more on the pretentious and overpriced side. However, you MUST get the mackerel pressed sushi. Call and order/save it ahead of time!
