Tucked away bar within Pigeon Park: have a few pitons and watch some football. Go after the hike. It's an old army quarters and occasionally hosts jazz music in one of its dark rooms.
Climb both peaks (not hard), learn the military history of the island, eat at jambe de bois, relax on the beach, and drink at the hideaway tavern. Best, and cheapest, day on the north side. Great day.
The tables are made from old wooden ship parts. Great fruit drinks, fish roti, and grilled chicken. Relaxing and inexpensive. It's right on the water if you want to hang out before the hike. A must.
Cream of crab, salad, and large crabs. Order 6 at a time to keep them hot. On Wednesdays they have cheaper crabs.
Oysters at the bar, grab a tub of horseradish, hot sauce, and join the conversation. A Baltimore treasure.
Black cherry with small amount of marshmallow. Kiddie size is plenty.
Sit outside close to the band but also check out the bar upstairs and peer from the balcony.
Eggs Stanley is a no brainer: fried oysters, perfectly poached eggs, thick ham, thin biscuit topped with creole spiced hollandaise. Coffee ice cream to go.
Delicious authentic dim sum: pork bun, onion pancake, chinese broccoli, steamed dumplings of all types, roast duck, shrimp noodles, and anything else. Use hot sauce everywhere.
Get a latte and banana chocolate pasty then sit outside for people watching. Good bike parking and music. No internet.
