Fort Massachusetts is on West Ship Island. It was built following the War of 1812 and remained in use until 1903. In 1861 Mississippi seceded, and an armed militia took possession of the island fort.

Located on the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer's grounds. Hurricane Katrina destroyed the church and damaged the memorial, but it has since been repaired.
The home of Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederacy. Davis retired here in the 1870s. The house was severely damaged during Hurricane Katrina. Open 9am - 4pm daily.
Carved by Marlin Martin from the damaged trees left in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Similar sculptures stretch along the beach westward.

Named for one of Gulfport's former mayors, the pier was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and rebuilt in 2008. There is a boat launch here as well, so take a spin around the Gulf of Mexico.

Cathedral Square is the unofficial center of downtown Mobile. Surrounded on three sides by local businesses, it’s flanked on the west end by the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

The zoo is fantastic. You can get close to the animals and don't have to walk 40 miles. A very nice family experience
Awesome stop!! Make sure you buy a cup of alligator food or two!! Chain link fencing surrounds the area, so it's very safe for your little ones.
Bring binoculars and a good camera. You won't want to miss anything and be prepared for anything. Aligators, eagles, ospreys, blue herons, and 1,000 year old cypress trees!
