all the breakfast sammies are a win, especially the meatloaf. the yogurt/fruit/granola is a great lighter meal as well. get it to go and eat it next door in cobble hill park.
the drinks, apps, small plates and crostinis are better than the mains. you can't go wrong with any of those and it's a lovely atmosphere.
some of the best brick oven pies in the five boroughs. put your name in early and then go somewhere for a drink; they'll call your table is ready. oh, and it's BYO and they only serve pies and calzone
excellent sammiches and sides and a nice back garden. my faves are the fish sandwich and potato salad.

My favorite thai food in Carroll Gardens / Cobble Hill. Super reasonably priced. Massaman chicken curry is my staple. Crispy calamari for your app.
OH MY GOD. The tagliatelle in tomato butter sauce with roasted brussel sprouts might be my favorite dish in brooklyn. i wanted to order a second one!
excellent, inventive Thai fare. some of the best chix wings evar and the skrimps with pork belly and glass noodles were faaaantastic. big backyard is opening in time for summer. do it.
i never thought i'd say this, but their smoked meat rivals katz's pastrami for best jewish sandwich in the city. montreal-style jew food mecca that moses would be proud of.
amazeballs. deelishicious food in a great atmosphere and a lovely staff. faves were the crudo and the homemade pastas. spots like this are why brooklyn wins.
A slice of Tokyo in BK. You won't find better, more authentic tofu in NYC. The agedashi and the home made varieties are delicate and delicious. Everything else is fantastic, esp the nightly specials.
Momofuku-lite, and that's a really big compliment. I'd suggest getting most all of the non-ramen options and then splitting a ramen (if you're with your honey and splitting a soup isn't soups awkward)

This place is proper old school Italian. The elderly gentleman who oversees the operation and speaks only Italian is the man; his pasta is awesome!
