One of the greatest little airports in the country. If you've got time to kill and need a charge? They've got it. Want a rocking chair? Covered. Ruby Tuesday & Sbux. All you need & nice clean b-rooms
The entrance to TSA is awesome with the huge water feature and tree. I always stop and enjoy, helps make me feel less rushed.
Isabel TiptonMart 21, 2012Best airport I've ever been to. Quick, small, extremely clean, and the staff are great. Starbucks just past security. Free wifi and outlets too! Plus, they have an art exhibit to pass the time.
Shop after you get thur security that way you don't have to pull out and rearrange everything. I love this airport. Very easy to use. Very friendly folks.
The airport from first glance is very nice, but you can tell that the owners of the airport are penny pinchers. They make you take your bags to be screened in an different area than where you check in
Power spot chairs. Great to charge your electronic devices before a flight. A must for all airports.
I've travelled domestically and internationally, and TYS is easily the fastest and friendliest of all airports I've been to.
Lee Francis plays live jazz every Tuesday afternoon, a real delight.
J DOcak 20, 2019Nice, quaint, and welcome airport. It’s just the perfect size. It looks fairly new or newly renovated. It has a Starbucks so everything is complete.
Love leaving an hour before my flight with a 30 minute drive & still getting through security with plenty of time to spare. It's small: if you have a delay/cancellation-CALL to get a flight changed!

All these previous tips are correct. But for earlier mid week flights the lines can get LONG for security, give yourself a little longer then you would think those mornings.
Taking a taxi to or from the airport maybe cheaper than parking your car. (Go Taxi) $2/mile?

Great Airport! Rocking chairs, loads of plug ins all over the place, clean, efficent, laid back, good restaurants, cool plane side checked bag return, wifi. some other airports could follow TYS lead.
Don't miss the gourmet chicken tenders at Ruby Tuesdays. You will most likely be on a plane with Knoxville's most well known celebrity, Tina from Survivor.
Love this airport. It may be small. But. Security is friendly. Comfy rocking chairs. New Starbucks. Relaxing atmosphere.
Security lines were longest I've ever seen this morning. Backed up all the way to the escalator. Went smoothly. Folks nice. Southern hospitality. Even given free cup of hot water for tea at Cinnabon.
TSA at McGhee Tyson Airport is amazing. They can move a line that stretches to the front door through security in 15 minutes. Bravo!- Great airport, clean, easy to get in and out, and usually a quick security line.

FYI... Yes this airport is small. But if your leaving on a flight between 4:30AM and 7AM.. and think you can make your flight checking in late your going to be in for a shock. Get to the airport ASAP!

Such a nice airport to come in and go out of. Fast baggage service and nice people.

Shaun CassellsMart 22, 2013Free high speed wifi 6 down 4 up. Easy access to bathrooms and power. Nice rocking chairs on the ends.
If you park in garage, try parking nearest 3rd floor bridge / elevator in the center. Easier walk across bridge to Airline Counters & all Airport gates.
Disregard the 10 min security tip. @ 630 am the second line is past the start of the waterfall... Please TSA, open all 3 lines during peak times and implement a status only line.

Ruby Tuesday’s food is the best at the airport. Starbucks coffee is the best coffee.
Kate HOcak 15, 2020Convenient, small airport with reasonable flight option. Nice and clean. Could use more dining options.
Keep am eye out for a Serfass. They can often be found at the Ruby Tuesday lounge singing rock ballads.
Free so-fin and rows of seats (that face outside) with power strip bars is great.
If you check in outside at curbside, often they won't weigh your bag. Can save you some $$ if you're it's a little over 50lbs!
Beautiful, friendly, well serviced 12-gate airport for its size.
You can usually park really close to the front door of the departures entrance to the terminal. Go into long term parking to the roof, and then drive around to the section near bridge to terminal

Sometimes a small airport is really great, I enjoy how fast I get out and most of the times in.
Quiznos are hard to come by in East Tennessee. You better get your toasted bread on before you leave.
